We concluded our sermon series through Romans 5-8 looking through Romans 8:31-39. Here we see the climax of the series, and perhaps even the whole letter. Paul reflects on all he has said and explained throughout these chapters through a series of rhetorical questions. Paul reminds us of what God has done for His chosen people, applying God’s inseparable love to present suffering. Paul shows us how God is completely for us as He demonstrates His great love by providing the gift of His precious Son. Paul also shows us that nothing in creation - not even suffering - can separate us from Christ’s love. In the midst of our present sufferings, we are more than conquerors on the final day when God delivers us into His kingdom. With sure hope centered on His great steadfast love, lift your eyes to the Lord Jesus Christ with greater confidence for the present time and greater assurance for future glory.
